Climate-KIC (Climate Knowledge and Innovation Community) is the EU’s largest public private partnership addressing climate change through innovation to build a low carbon and climate-resilient economy. We address climate change across four priority themes: urban areas, land use, production systems, climate metrics and finance. Education is at the heart of these themes to inspire and empower the next generation of climate leaders. We run programmes for students, start-ups and innovators across Europe via centers in major cities, convening a community of the best people and organizations. The Climate-KIC Startup Accelerator is Europe's biggest cleantech accelerator. Climate-KIC startup teams are tech-driven start-ups tackling topics such as low-carbon production systems, smart energy, urban transitions, sustainable food and fintech for less CO2. Our portfolio has included start-ups like Thermondo or Tado. Climate-KIC is currently mainly supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. Purpose of the Role The Accelerator Programme and Event Manager is accountable for developing and xecuting an Accelerator Programme in Berlin and in close coordination with 2 Partner Accelerator Managers in Germany (in Munich and Frankfurt) and the local Accelerator Manager. The programme consists of three stages of six months each offering an overall package worth up to €125,000. Accepted startups get professional pitch training and business coaching, substantial financial support, office space at a clean-tech incubator and access to the exclusive European and international Climate-KIC network to help find investors and first customers. In our programme we have around 18 startup teams incorporated biannually – around 10 locally in the Berlin based. The accelerator’s main goal is to support early stage startups to scale and therefore to achieve real climate impact in the markets. The role is part of an innovation team that also aims at driving innovation within established partner
organizations (large and small business, research institutions).

We are looking for a person who ideally combines a corporate background, startup/ accelerator management experience, climate/ cleantech know-how and ability to create synergies across different stakeholders. More specifically, we look for:
