Job Purpose

The Communications Manager is responsible for Lenovo’s communications & engagement strategy and execution to further build the brand within the business objectives. This role is responsible for ensuring that proactive and reactive communication is implemented and strategies keep people engaged with how Lenovo is progressing towards its strategic aims. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Communications Manager will work collaboratively with Senior Leadership and Executives.

 

Position Description

Strategic communications (30%)

  • Develop, drive and execute complex PR and Social Media strategies and programs in support of business objectives
  • Yearly and quarterly bottom up planning and execution to meet business objectives and to track and exceed KPIs
  • Sourcing and managing interview opportunities to Senior Managers and Executives

 

Tactical communications (50%)

  • Organize and execute news hooks & press launch activities incl. Social Media, press conferences, exhibitions and press tours related to Commercial (from PCs to servers) and Consumer products (from PCs to convertibles & tablets)
  • Initiate and manage product reviews and tests by media and influencers, related to the entire product range
  • Source, cultivate and maintain relationships with key traditional media, local industry leaders/analysts and social influencers
  • Build strong understanding of Lenovo business and culture via interviews, press conferences & earnings briefings for executives

 

Internal Communications (20%)

  • Advise and support Senior Executives and Directors with regard to communications which engage and inspire employees
  • Coach and support Senior Leaders and Managers how to communicate news and initiatives effectively
  • Organize and execute internal events incl. moderator role

 

Back office

  • Steer and motivate agencies to deliver on message, on time, on budget
  • Manage and monitor the PR and Social Media budget with attention to detail and accuracy and ensuring value for money - adhering to financial guidelines and managing the corporate financial system

 

Position Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in PR and Social Media/Engagement Marketing
  • A track record of successful Communication- and Social Media/Engagement Marketing experience in a fast moving, international IT industry - or similar industries. Agency background is desirable
  • Actual base of contacts and personal relations with key media and (social) influencers in IT industry
  • Analytical approach with the ability to execute and measure strategies that link PR and Social Media/Engagement Marketing plans to business results
  • Excellent advisory skills, confidence giving advice to Senior Managers and Executives
  • Excellent written and editorial skills with accuracy and keen attention to detail
  • Efficient and reliable project & budget management, including excellent organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to manage communication aspects of a potential crisis situation
  • Fluent in German (native speaker) and English
