HoReCa.digital is METRO AG's newly established internal digital strategy consulting group. HoReCa.digital is a ~20-person strong team established by the CEO and accountable for leading and guiding the implementation of the company's 'digital restaurant' innovation initiative in support of its €30 billion wholesale 'cash & carry' club business. We are seeking someone with a super smart and agile personality who can assist in building up and running our Discovery & Analysis practice and help turn resulting intelligence output into actionable content. Therefore we are looking for an Manager (m/f) Strategic Research & Innovation
With focus on the burgeoning global hospitality innovation and startups ecosystem, this position requires strong ability to identify best-in-class startups and to evaluate corresponding trends. You will need to be able to communicate resulting findings and recommendations both inside METRO as well to our outside hospitality technology stakeholder community. With that in mind, you possess a strong general understanding of emerging 'disruptive' technologies (e.g. POS, mobile, data), plus familiarity with 'digital restaurant' business model concepts at intersection of 'smart content' and 'viral community' building, you bring expertise in turning actionable research intelligence into publishable content, that is both insightful and compelling. Your understanding of day-to-day restaurant operations, pain-points, and success drivers is a big plus, as well as your general familiarity with data science concepts and their impact on research and intelligence capturing.
