React Native - Mobile Application Developer (m/f)

We are looking for a Mobile Application Developer to develop, maintain and update its codebase for both its web and mobile projects. In this role, your primary focus will be to lead the integration of our software on a mobile platform, with a view to extend it to a desktop browser client at a later date. Slock.it is looking for a talented individual with a proven track record in cross-platform desktop/mobile development. Expertise with the React Native framework is a must, but candidates with, Angular 2, Ionic etc. experience will also be considered.

Your job

  • Generating the high level of software requirements, based on our user's needs and other constraints including cost and schedule

  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable native mobile and cross-platform mobile web application code

  • Implement performance and quality modules

  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems

  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

  • Performing cost–benefit analyses to determine the best methods or approaches for meeting the software requirements

  • Liaise with 3rd party software development teams to insure hardware and software synergies - leading to specs optimization.

  • Generating a set of acceptance test requirements, together with the designers, test engineers, and the user, which will determine that all of the software requirements have been met

  • Carry out special tasks at management's direction

 

Your profile

While we do not require a computer science degree, we, however, require a portfolio and a proven track record demonstrating:

  • Strong proficiency in mobile and hybrid application development  with fairly complete knowledge of the language specifications

  • Excellent understanding of programming patterns

  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Github), familiarity with continuous integration

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills - Fluent German and English is a must

  • You enjoy being part of a very rapidly growing team

  • You don’t mind wearing multiple hats - this can be challenging for candidates that come from a large corporate background where staff are assigned single tasks

  • You are ready to flexibly react to changes in the company’s short-term strategy while keeping a focus on the long-term goal to build the Slock.it flagship application

  • You feel comfortable being part of a small team (10-12 staff), initially working in a growing environment starting with limited resources

  • You have a sense of humor
