We are looking for a Head of People Operations to oversee and grow the People side of Operations at Mesosphere.  Our projected growth for the upcoming year will increase our global headcount by 3x - 4x and we need someone to lead the projected planning and facilitate the unforeseen obstacles. As the Head of People Operations, we expect you to bring expertise in the realms of compliance, compensation, benefits, employee relations, recruiting and mobility.

You will be curious to learn about the greater mission of Mesosphere, as well as becoming knowledgeable about what the engineers are working on. Our culture is unique, fun and extremely geeky.


What is the Head of People Ops doing at Mesosphere?

Day to day management. Includes implementing company wide compliance and policies, impeccable personnel record keeping, benefits management and employee immigration management. Our team is diverse with multiple home countries and a lot of visa cases to keep an eye on. We need you to be diligent in making sure each one is kept up to date.

Hub of communication. You are the go-to resource for all HR questions for our team through onboarding, open enrollment and even for the veteran Mesospherians. You also keep the team informed of who is joining the Rocket Ship and welcome them aboard!

Employee Experience. Creating a high touch onboarding experience for new employees by making updates to our internal process and involving our team. This is an opportunity to creatively incorporate our Company core values into the work environment.

HR Business Partner. Roll up your sleeves alongside the Executive and Recruiting teams to craft and execute exciting growth plans for our offices.

Tools. You participate in researching and selecting our first HR information system for our world-wide operations. You will help our team stay organized, informed and forward thinking as we prepare for an upcoming year of serious global growth.

Master of Checklists. You will install procedures to anticipate, mitigate and triage crises. You can create new or revise existing processes to ensure smooth sailing for complex HR business operations and you will be tracking them.

Friendly with Finance. You will partner with the Finance team to create compensation structures and with Managers to shape performance reviews. 


Experience and qualities we are looking for

  • A passion for helping and taking care of people
  • Minimum 5 years of HR focused experience
  • Proven track record of success in a similar-sized company
  • Startup experience
  • Exposure to similar high volume growth
  • Experience working directly with Founders and Executives
  • Work hard, play hard ethic
  • Bonus points for extra experience in other, non-HR jobs
