Matmatch is an ambitious new corporate venture in the materials science space - a platform that connects engineers, product designers, and procurement teams with the best materials and suppliers for their job. It will soon become the largest publicly accessible database of material property information and is a one-of-a-kind startup.

We are based out of central Munich with the aim to become the go-to-platform for all material related needs of customers all over the world. Key responsibilities

To support our ambitious growth, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Head of Sales with a proven sales management background, to be responsible for strategy, direction and performance of the sales and account management teams.

  • Lead further development of a strong sales concept together with your team
  • Lead the successful acquisition of new customers and business partners
  • Refine tools and processes and implement new methods to acquire new customers efficiently
  • Motivate the sales team to achieve the best results possible
  • Set activity and revenue targets for members of the sales & account management teams
  • Continuously train, coach and develop of all members of the sales and account management teams
  • Further develop customer care strategy together with account management & support the implementation
  • Scale processes & team to reach sales targets
  • Work closely with product team and management to communicate customer needs and constantly improve the product
  • Attend industry events and conferences to generate new business leads
  • Visit key potential customers to successfully conclude contracts
  • Report monthly on sales performance against budget and variances

What we are looking for

  • University degree in a business or sales related discipline
  • 5+ years B2B sales experience 
  • Experience with building a sales organization and strategy from the ground up
  • Previous experience successfully managing and developing sales teams
  • Proven track record of achieving targets and driving sales growth in a business
  • Running hypothesis-driven sales channel experiments & analyzing results
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to inspire sales teams.
  • A network in the materials industry (producers, distributors etc.) is a plus 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate ideas effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Native or fluent (native-equivalent) in English
