Product Manager Operations Software (f/m)

Berlin, Germany


Wayfair’s Operations Process Improvement team is looking for an experienced product manager to develop new tools, technologies, and business processes for Wayfair’s worldwide order management platform. You will be working with VPs, senior directors, and software engineers to define project requirements, QA and troubleshoot implementation, and drive an agenda to create a best-in-class customer service and order management.


Who we are: Operations Process Improvement is an internal consulting team that seeks to make things run more efficiently by using technology. We analyze the operations of our business (Customer Service, Outbound Sales, Product Catalog Management, Fulfillment, and Warehousing) and find opportunities to improve customer experience and reduce costs. Then we work with our engineering to team to build systems to realize those opportunities.


In this role you will

  • Turn high-level business requirements into detailed specs for software development
  • Work closely with software engineers, service management, and operations analysts to design and test new tools, design workflows, change-manage implementation, and solve problems. 
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, improve the usability of our tools, and analyze root causes
  • Drive a roadmap of customer experience and cost savings
  • Work cross functionally to prioritize competing interests and focus project plans on the highest impact activities


Projects may include

  • Create efficient ownership workflows for customer follow up and service escalations
  • Developing cost-smart technologies to point service agents to the best solutions
  • Drive automation of manual operations tasks
  • Proactively reduce negative customer experiences by predicting pain points, automating timely response, and reducing their causes
  • Improve user interfaces and information to reach resolution on the first contact
  • Research and implement 3rd party technologies that drive value to operations


Who we’re looking for

  • A demonstrated record of strong project management and driving results (preferably e-commerce)
  • Ability to work independently and motivated to move beyond existing practices
  • Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Creative thinking with customer focused mindset
  • Technical and analytical aptitude or background (enough to be dangerous)
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology, business discipline, or MBA a plus
