SatoshiPay is a fast-growing technology company founded in 2014. We build a scalable, blockchain-based nanopayments platform. Our web widget allows for frictionless payments without registration across different websites. The software we build pushes browsers to their limits and our backend goes beyond what existing blockchains offer out of the box.

We are looking for an experienced frontend engineer that has a structured approach to coding and an appetite for technological challenges.

What you will be doing

  • Develop, improve and maintain our client applications
  • Create clean and scalable client-side code
  • Design the frontend test automation architecture
  • Make design decisions as one of the two key engineers of our team
  • Train junior front end developers

What we care about

  • React, Redux, ES2015+, TypeScript
  • Agile methodologies (scrum)
  • Clean and DRY code that is easy to maintain
  • Fast release cycles
  • Responsible and creative work ethic
  • "Customer first" attitude
  • Strong stance in the open source and blockchain community
  • Passion about clean code and test automation

What we are looking for

You should excel in:

  • JavaScript (ES2015+)
  • TypeScript
  • React, Redux
  • Browser APIs
  • Frontend test automation
  • Webpack

Additional skills:

  • Frontend frameworks and libraries like Bootstrap and Material-UI
  • Next.js, Apollo, GraphQL
  • Experience with building and running applications in production
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to find creative solutions to technical problems
  • Understanding cryptographic concepts
  • Fluent in English (don't know German? no problem!)

It would be nice if you:

  • Have a deep understanding of ES2015 and new ES proposals
  • Know your browsers inside out, including quirks on mobiles
  • Are an avid CSS3 guru
  • Are proficient in testing frameworks
  • Embrace declarative/functional programming concepts
  • Have a remarkable profile in the open source community

You should not apply if you:

  • Are a contractor and not looking for a long-term engagement

What we offer

Working at a fast-moving startup like SatoshiPay means that all your contributions will have a direct impact on the product and by extension on how people will use the internet in the future. The SatoshiPay team is well-connected, both in the FinTech and the blockchain scene, so you'll also benefit from being exposed to these communities. We are an open-minded team that works closely together in a non-hierarchical manner at our office in the heart of Berlin.

We are big believers (and users!) of open source software, so you will also be working on software that is released under an open license and take part in open standards activities. We are also regularly attending hackathons and tech conferences.

  • Competitive salary
  • Health care and retirement plans
  • Fresh fruits and free drinks
  • Ergonomic desks and chairs
  • Great hardware
  • Experienced team of highly qualified and motivated software engineers who work with a mutual respect and appreciation
  • We offer an education budget and extra days off to be spent on your self-development
  • Personal branding support: preparing talks and blog posts, participating in industry conferences and hackathons
  • Open source contributions
