Do you think this could be you? To pursue our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking for a Senior Buyer Furniture – Private Label (m/f). In this position, you will be responsible for collections, sourcing and purchase of great Private Label furniture products for all Westwing markets, working with suppliers mainly in Europe and Asia. The rapidly growing Private Label team is responsible for the complete value chain, ranging from global sourcing, supply chain management, logistics, (online sales) campaign management, to collection and brand building. It is one of the main pillars of growth for the Westwing Group (a “startup within a startup”).

Your responsibilities will be

  • Shape overall furniture category strategy and product assortment / collections, together with Creative & Buying departments across Westwing and the Managing Director Private Label
  • Negotiate product selection, sales terms and pricing with manufacturers across a range of geographies, working closely with the product design team
  • Take personal responsibility for relationship-building and commercial development of suppliers
  • Guarantee value, quality and timely delivery of a diverse and inspiring product portfolio
  • Continue to build a strong and lean furniture buying team with an eye to future growth
  • Lead ongoing and seasonal analyses to assess product performance against targets and plan future buying needs accordingly
  • Work with Product Design on development of market-orientated own-design collections
  • Coordinate with visual merchandising and campaign teams whenever relevant to ensure high-quality online presentation

You come with

  • Strong academic credentials
  • Great, instinctive feeling for furniture products
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Buying function, preferably in furniture and working directly with designers & manufacturers for product development
  • Passion to build a new business with a small but growing team, eager to teach & learn
  • Network in furniture supply markets (Eastern Europe, Asia) is a plus
  • A combination of excellent commercial sense, analytics, drive, leadership skills, pragmatism, negotiation experience and communication skills
  • Fluent English required, any other languages a bonus
